Learning thrives on questions—but are all questions equally helpful?🤔

When diving into something new, questions are powerful—they clarify understanding and guide our next steps.

However, it's crucial to distinguish between questions aimed at gaining genuine clarity and those driven solely by a desire to avoid mistakes and achieve absolute certainty.
Consider test automation: asking questions like, "How can I effectively use assertions to verify results?" brings clarity and enhances your skills. But continually asking, "How can I be absolutely sure my scripts will never fail in daily runs?" may lead to endless preparation, hesitation, and missed opportunities for real learning and innovation.
Embracing uncertainty encourages experimentation, resilience, and growth.
As philosopher Erich Fromm insightfully said:
🧩 “Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.”
Echoing this wisdom, Francis Bacon reminds us:
🧩“If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties.”
Let's strive for questions that clarify our path, not those that trap us in endless loops of doubt.
Have you experienced this balance in your journey? I'd love to hear your insights!
